SUMMARY: For a comprehensive view of recent election results, visit WTOK.com. Despite Governor Tate Reeves lifting the partial statewide burn ban, some counties like Kemper, Neshoba, and Noxubee remain under restrictions. Drought conditions haven’t improved significantly, and Lauderdale Emergency Management Agency Deputy Director Greg Chatham warns the public to exercise caution when burning due to the persistent dry weather. The fire can rekindle even after being doused if not properly extinguished. Chatham also notes that local fire coordinators have the authority to reinstate burn bans if conditions warrant. He urges to stay vigilant and responsible when handling fire.
