Thanksgiving Takeaway celebration hosted by USM institute for disability

SUMMARY: The USM Institute for Disability Studies has partnered with several organizations across the Pinebelt today to make a difference in the lives of the homeless across Hattiesburg. Kyra Lampley is speaking with them on why it’s important to give back to those in the homeless community. Over the last 8 years, the USM Institute for Disability Studies has hosted its Thanksgiving Takeaway Celebration, which gives those in the homeless community a full day of service. November is nationally recognized as National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week. 8 years ago, Kyra Lampley was tasked with one simple assignment to make a difference in the community.
