Thanksgiving Takeaway celebration hosted by USM institute for disability

SUMMARY: The USM Institute for Disability Studies has partnered with several across the Pinebelt to make a difference in the lives of the homeless across Hattiesburg. Kyra Lampley is speaking with them on why it’s important to give back to those in the homeless community. Over the last 8 years, the USM Institute for Disability Studies has hosted its Thanksgiving Takeaway Celebration, which gives those in the homeless community a full day of service. November is nationally recognized as National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness . 8 years ago, Kyra Lampley was tasked with one simple assignment to make a difference in the community.

The USM Institute for Disability Studies partnered with several organizations across the Pine Belt Monday to make a difference in the lives of homeless people.

Francine left good and bad during its visit to the Pine Belt

SUMMARY: Hurricane Francine’s passage through the Pine Belt elicited mixed feelings among local farmers.
