Loaves and Fishes of Lowndes County serves area for over decade
SUMMARY: Loaves and Fishes of Lowndes County, a soup kitchen in Columbus, Mississippi, serves nearly 2,000 meals a week to the community. The organization has grown its kitchen staff, volunteers, and outreach efforts over the years. In 2021, they served 25,000 pickup meals, and they are on track to serve 85,000 to 95,000 this year. The soup kitchen has 18 different organizations ready to serve the community in November. The organization has focused on growing its marketing and social media platforms to raise awareness of its services. Without Loaves and Fishes, many people in the community would go hungry. The organization is looking to expand its meals through more volunteers.
