Two Mississippians sentenced for distributing fentanyl
SUMMARY: A man and a woman from Terry and Jackson, respectively, have been sentenced to federal prison for conspiring to possess and distribute a substance containing fentanyl. Tyunna Lamar Jordan received a 93-month prison sentence, while Mercedes Shykeria Mitchell received a 27-month sentence. The two were involved in distributing “M 30” tablets that contained fentanyl. Mitchell assisted Jordan in returning the tablets to their source of supply at a packing and shipping store in Byram. More than 2,500 tablets were intercepted by agents and found to contain fentanyl. Both defendants pleaded guilty to the conspiracy charges.

One hospitalized due to Vicksburg house fire

Bond set for Columbus man after being charged with homicide
