SUMMARY: Chief meteorologist Patrick Bigby highlights two key tropical weather developments. Hurricane Tammy, a Category 2 storm with winds at 100mph, is currently 510 miles southeast of Bermuda. It is moving northeast, but will soon turn , losing its tropical characteristics and bringing rough weather to Bermuda. The major , however, concerns Hurricane Otis, which made landfall in Alapa, Mexico, after rapidly intensifying from a tropical storm to a Category 5 hurricane within 24 hours. The focus is now on recovery efforts in Alapa, while what remains of Hurricane Tammy heads east across the Atlantic.
