Amory shooting suspect awaits first court appearance
SUMMARY: A 19-year-old man named Andrew Isaac Gray has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder in connection with a deadly shooting at a motel in Amory, Mississippi. Mississippi inmate captured wearing only a sheet after escape
SUMMARY: An inmate escaped from the Central Mississippi Correctional Facility (CMCF) on July 5 but was recaptured wearing only a sheet shortly afterward. Authorities, including Rankin County deputies, the Mississippi Highway Patrol (MHP), and local police forces, were alerted around 12:45 p.m. after discovering blood and clothing on the prison's exterior fence. They established a perimeter and searched for the escapee. A suspicious individual in a nearby neighborhood was reported by a citizen, prompting the deployment of K-9 “Voodoo,” who quickly tracked and found the inmate in a lake. The Mississippi Department of Corrections (MDOC) has taken the inmate back into custody and is conducting an internal investigation.

Ocean Springs man faces charges for shooting into crowd
SUMMARY: Henry Andray, a 68-year-old man from Ocean Springs, has been charged with four counts of aggravated assault for shooting into a crowd during a Fourth of July party. Fireworks fun continues through weekend
SUMMARY: Fireworks celebrations in Mississippi continue this weekend. In Lowndes County, New Hope Strong's “Peace, Love, and Freedom Celebration” begins Saturday at 4 p.m. at the New Hope Community Center, with fireworks at 9 p.m. Tishomingo hosts its annual street dance at Tishomingo Baptist Church's parking lot starting at 6:30 p.m., with fireworks at 10 p.m. Sherman Park in Sherman will also have a celebration on Saturday from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m., ending with fireworks.
