Candidate drops out of race for Mississippi governor, endorses Presley

SUMMARY: An independent candidate for Mississippi’s Governor, Gwindel Gray, has withdrawn from the race and endorsed Democratic nominee Brandon Presley. Gray made the announcement on Monday, although her decision came two weeks after absentee voting had begun, where her name was listed alongside Republican candidate Reeves. Despite withdrawing, Gray’s name will still appear on remaining absentee ballots and Election Day ballots, allowing people to still vote for her. Presley expressed gratitude for Gray’s endorsement, stating that it is a Democrat showing support for another Democrat.
