Groups bond at Camp Shelby to honor National Public Lands Day

SUMMARY: Archaeologists with the Mississippi National Guard and cadets are preparing a World War Two recreation area for public use. Charles Herrington explains that the area was once used to train soldiers at Camp Shelby. Now, it is being transformed into a public park with markers and trees. The aims to preserve history and give the public an to participate in the management of cultural and national resources. Currently, there are 15 different markers placed around Camp Shelby as part of its historic trail. The park is expected to be open by next spring.

Mental health professionals testify in Carly Gregg trial
