Study shows Naloxone not available at 40% of Mississippi pharmacies
SUMMARY: Pharmacies in Mississippi have varying availability and willingness to dispense naloxone, a drug used to reverse opioid overdoses. There may be a lack of understanding or education on how standing orders for naloxone work. The model of allowing pharmacists to provide naloxone without a prescription is uncommon but has been successful in other states.
