Tropical Update 9/22/23
SUMMARY: The chief meteorologist, Patrick Bigby, provides a tropical update for the evening. He reports that potential tropical system number 16 has been upgraded to a tropical storm named Ophelia. Ophelia is currently located off the coast of the Carolinas and has intensified into a strong tropical storm with winds of 70 mph. Heavy rain is expected along the coastal areas of North Carolina and Virginia, with tropical storm warnings in effect. Ophelia is forecasted to make landfall early Saturday morning and will weaken as it moves across eastern North Carolina. Another system, invest 90l, has a high chance of development and could affect the Atlantic.

Interview: Autism organization offering sensory-friendly film in Corinth

Columbus mayor not seeking re-election
SUMMARY: Columbus Mayor Keith Gasin announced he will not seek reelection, revealing his decision during a press conference at City Hall.
