MDOT working to grasp timeline for I-110 bridge repair in Biloxi
SUMMARY: There was a fire under the I-110 bridge in Biloxi that caused heavy damage. The fire started small but quickly spread, burning wood and rubber. It took about 30 minutes for firefighters to bring the fire under control. The bridge suffered structural damage, particularly in the area above the trailer where the fire started. MDOT crews surveyed the damage to the bridge lights and circuitry. The fire was considered unusual, but crews aggressively attacked it and did an outstanding job of getting it under control. The incident caused congestion in the area.
Meanwhile the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
