SUMMARY: Around 100 workers at the Brandon GM Parts Distribution Plant in Mississippi have gone on strike, demanding higher pay and better retirement . They are among thousands of GM employees across the country who are putting pressure on management as part of a United Auto Workers (UAW) strike. The UAW is demanding a 40% boost in pay for working a 32-hour , along with an increase in retirement benefits. Workers at the plant say they are frustrated with the disparity in wealth between CEOs and ordinary workers, and are willing to make sacrifices to fight for what they deserve. Organizers say they will picket for as long as it takes.

Walk to bring awareness to mental health issues staged Saturday in Hattiesburg

Leaf River provides safety funding
