Whitten Merging With Peeples
SUMMARY: Consolidation of Peeples and Whitten middle schools began today at the Metro Center Mall. This decision was made due to an investigation into testing irregularities, which led to action being taken against 43 staff members. Despite concerns about the merger, some parents are excited for their children to start at the combined school. Peeples Middle School has a capacity of 650 students, and with both schools combined, there are currently 543 students enrolled. The Jackson Public School district states that this situation is temporary, but no specific time frame has been provided.
