SUMMARY: Three Canton men have been sentenced to two decades in prison for their involvement in a murder for hire plot that resulted in a shootout in Ridgeland nearly two years ago. Authorities responded to a report of two cars shooting at each other on Highland Colony Parkway in November 2021 and later discovered that Tyrone Lewis was the target of the plot. Lewis survived after being shot in the arm. Deandre Blackman and Corey Ali were convicted of conspiracy to commit murder and sentenced to 20 years in prison, while Ali received an additional five years for being a felon in possession of a firearm. Xavius Johnson received a maximum sentence of 20 years.
