Free fishing day set for July 4th
SUMMARY: Anglers, enjoy your Fourth of July on the water! On July 4th, the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks (MDWFP) invites everyone to participate in their free fishing day. For this day, fishing licenses will not be required on any public waters across Mississippi. However, permits are still necessary for fishing at state-owned lakes. Celebrate the holiday with some free fishing fun!
The license requirement will be waived for fishing on any public water throughout the state on July 4th.
