Hurricane Lee whips up waves along northern Caribbean as it churns through open waters
SUMMARY: Hurricane Lee, a Category 3 storm, is churning through open waters north of the Caribbean region, causing waves of over 15 feet. Although it is not expected to make landfall this week, residents of New England and nearby areas should closely monitor the storm as it is predicted to turn northward. Lee is likely to pass west of Bermuda and move towards the mid-Atlantic states and New England by the end of the week. Another storm, Hurricane Margot, has formed in the Atlantic but is expected to remain over open waters. Meteorologists are also tracking two areas of low pressure in the eastern Atlantic that are likely to become a tropical depression.
