Starkville community recognizes first responders in the area
SUMMARY: It has been 22 years since the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001, and many people are still honoring and supporting the first responders who sacrificed their lives on that day. Starkville Police Chief Mark Ballard, who has been in law enforcement for almost 30 years, said that the attacks changed America and made people more aware of the sacrifices first responders make. Jackie Nason, whose husband and son-in-law are first responders, emphasized the importance of honoring those who continue to make a difference in the community. Gentiva Hospice in Starkville hosted a first responder appreciation day to show support.

Columbus High holds ceremony in memory of Marquez Carter Jr.

Simpson County community comes together after fatal bridge collapse
SUMMARY: On October 16, a tragic bridge collapse on State Route 149 in Simpson County, Mississippi, left several construction workers trapped and led to multiple fatalities.
