SUMMARY: Tropical Depression 9 is causing winds up to 20 mph and oppressive heat across the southern states of the US, with temperatures expected to reach or exceed 100 degrees on Wednesday. Heat advisories are in place and an excessive heat watch is set for Wednesday due to heat indices from 110-116. There is some relief south of I-10 due to scattered showers and thunderstorms, while rain chances will increase as a trough of low pressure moves northwards into the state on Friday. A front is expected to lower temperatures back to average by next Monday.

MSU, UM partner for accelerated law degree program
