Two Hinds County Supervisor seats move to runoff

SUMMARY: The Board of Supervisors in Mississippi will have two new members next year, with the possibility of more after the runoff election on August 29th. Incumbent District 3 Supervisor Credell Calhoun lost his seat to former Mississippi Representative Deborah Butler Dixon. In District 4, a runoff will be held between incumbent Supervisor Vern Gavin and Wanda Evers. A runoff will also take place in District 5 between incumbent Supervisor Bobby McGowan and Malcolm Johnson. The elections reflect a desire for change in the county and a focus on and quality of improvements.
