Coj Interim Chief 75 Days In
SUMMARY: Interim Police Chief Joseph Wade has 15 days to either be submitted to the council for a vote or his term will expire. He cannot serve as interim longer than 90 days according to state law. Wade has been serving in this role since June 1st after former Police Chief James Davis retired. Wade has been with the department for nearly 30 years. If appointed by the mayor, he will need at least 4 votes from the city council to become police chief. The mayor is pleased with Wade’s work and will make an announcement soon.

Tupelo man arrested for store burglary
