School Spotlight: Aberdeen students returned to school on Monday
SUMMARY: Students are returning to school after the summer break in Aberdeen, and teachers are excited to have them back. The Aberdeen School District is focusing on increasing academic achievement and creating a positive culture for students. Some students come from different backgrounds, but the teachers work hard to accommodate their needs. MAIS State Final Preview: TCA
SUMMARY: The Conerly Trophy will be presented on December 3rd at the Sheraton in Flowood. As the MAIS high school football season concludes, the Tri-County Rebels aim for another state title under Coach Philip Wasson. With a perfect 10-0 record, the Rebels advanced to the finals after playoff victories against Centerville and Columbia Academy. They will face Bowling Green in the 4A state title game, having defeated the Buccaneers in last year’s championship. The game kicks off this Friday at 7 PM at Jackson Academy, showcasing the Rebels’ ongoing quest for back-to-back titles.
The Tri County Academy Rebels are back in the 4A MAIS State Championship game. This year they rematch against Bowling Green. After going 10-0 in the regular season the Rebels are in a good position to repeat. TCA head coach Philip Wasson says his senior class is used to having success at this level. TCA and Bowling Green meet at 7pm this Friday night at Jackson Academy.

UWA’s Integrated Marketing Communications program hosts its 10th annual IMC3 Competition
SUMMARY: Today, the IMC program hosted its 10th Annual IMC 3 competition, highlighting student creativity across various fields, including photography, videography, graphic design, and writing. Participants had the chance to win scholarships for the IMC program, which offers diverse tracks such as graphic design, interior design, and sports communication. Ansley Wells shared encouraging advice for future students, urging them to keep an open mind regarding their chosen track and praising the supportive, hands-on faculty at the University of Western Alabama (UWA). Attendees left inspired, having honed their skills and understanding the opportunities within the IMC program.

Vitalant Blood Drive at Lauderdale County Government Center
