Volunteers needed for Harrison County Advocacy Center’s ‘Friends of Court’ program
SUMMARY: Harrison County’s Advocacy Center is calling for volunteers to assist in the ‘Friends of Court’ program. This initiative uses volunteers to support vulnerable adults, veterans, and children in court. Volunteers work with judges on custody, guardianship, and adult cases. There are currently around 24 volunteers, but the center wishes to double this number due to increasing case loads. Training sessions are held over three days. Prospective volunteers must be at least 21, own a vehicle, and complete 12 hours of additional training.
