Baptist Memorial Hospital performs succesful lockdown after shooting
SUMMARY: Healthcare workers at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Columbus had to go into lockdown after gunshots were heard near the hospital. The exchange of gunfire occurred near the back of the hospital, prompting the staff to initiate a Code Freeze lockdown for about an hour until law enforcement cleared the area. Hospital CEO Rob Coleman praised the staff for their handling of the situation and said that patient care continued throughout the event. One victim from the shooting is still being treated at Baptist Golden Triangle. The hospital remained under lockdown until Tuesday morning as a precaution.
