Seminar message says elected officials play role in economic development
SUMMARY: Elected officials play a vital role in economic development, as their incentive packages can influence companies to choose certain areas. Chad Chancellor of Next Move Group emphasized that these incentives should be seen as an investment, as new companies bring jobs and tax dollars to local governments. Companies prefer low-risk locations where they can predict construction timelines, and they also value areas with a quality workforce. The seminar, sponsored by the Golden Triangle Development LINK and Next Move Group, took place at the Center for Advanced Vehicular Systems on the MSU campus.
