A Starkville girl scout is helping a member of her community

SUMMARY: Paige Shelton, a Girl Scout from Starkville, Mississippi, chose to clean up a portion of Charles “Lala” Evans' land for her community project. Known as the town's first Black mail carrier, Evans had a section of his yard called “Lala Land” that had fallen into disrepair. Shelton and her troop fixed it up to make it look better. Lala's home and backyard have been a gathering place for the community for decades, and Shelton wanted to give back to him. Donations are welcome to replace the umbrellas that were destroyed in recent storms.

Dau Mabil’s family at odds over independent autopsy arrangements

Columbus prepares to spend money on paving streets
