Cook named interim Alcorn State University president

SUMMARY: Dr. Tracy Cook, currently the vice president for Student Affairs and Enrollment Management at Alcorn State University, will become the interim president on July 8. This change in leadership was approved by the Board of Trustees of State Institutions of Higher Learning. Dr. Ontario S. Wooden, the previous president, is leaving to focus on his family. Dr. Cook previously served as the chief of staff and interim vice president for Student Affairs before being promoted to his current position. He holds multiple degrees from Alcorn State University and William Carey University. The board thanked Dr. Wooden for his leadership and three years of service.
