STEM camp for local youth in Jackson County

SUMMARY: The city of Gautier Parks and Recreation in Jackson County is partnering with old school tutoring and toys to host a weekly camp for young campers interested in STEM. The camp focuses on science, robotics, art, and engineering. The children are learning various activities such as constructing and operating bottle rockets, creating Galaxy slime, and customizing their own ceramic rocket ships. David Bates, an educator for 15 years, is pleased to provide these enrichment opportunities for the youth of Jackson County. The camp allows for a fun and flexible approach to education, unlike the structured school environment. The camp is held at the Gautier Sportsplex.
