Director of Mississippi State Fire Academy announces retirement

SUMMARY: Mississippi Fire Academy executive director Terry Wages is set to retire after 32 years of service. Once forefront of Mississippi’s hospital crisis, Greenwood Leflore ‘on track to break even’

Mississippi State, Ole Miss presidents get new contracts

SUMMARY: The Institutions of Higher Learning Board of Trustees has extended the contracts of Mississippi President Dr. Mark Keenum and University of Mississippi Chancellor Dr. Glenn Boyce until June 30, 2028. Both presidents will a state salary of $500,000 per year and supplemental salaries of $450,000 annually from their university foundations. Keenum will receive up to $1.4 million in retention payments, while Boyce is eligible for up to $400,000 if he remains until June 30, 2026. Keenum, in office since 2009, has overseen significant growth in MSU, while Boyce has led UM through successful campaigns and record endowments.
