1 week remaining for March storm victims to apply for federal assistance
Mississippians impacted by late March tornadoes and severe storms have just one week remaining to file for assistance from the Federal Emergency Management Agency and the Small Business Administration
FEMA assistance for individuals affected by the storms may cover rental assistance, temporary housing, home repairs, personal property losses, and other disaster-related needs. FEMA grants do not have to be repaid.
Those seeking FEMA aid can apply here, or at a local Disaster Recovery Center.

Man wanted in South Carolina is arrested in Columbus
SUMMARY: Josfat Salomon Martinez, also known as Miguel Sierra, was arrested in Lowndes County, Mississippi, after being tracked from South Carolina, where he was wanted for Exploitation of a Minor. He had four outstanding warrants for the crime. On October 31, detectives found two cell phones in his possession containing explicit images and videos of children being sexually abused. Martinez admitted the phones were his and was charged with two counts of Child Exploitation, with a bond set at $250,000. The investigation is ongoing, and further charges may be forthcoming, according to Sheriff Eddie Hawkins.
