In a recent meeting, aldermen voted to solicit bids for inner harbor repairs. Although FEMA awarded the city $2.58 million, rising costs due to inflation may exceed this amount. FEMA will reimburse the actual repair costs, prompting the city to finalize expenditure estimates. Harbor improvement efforts will continue under the current administration until June 30, with additional work underway on the inner bulkhead wall funded by Tidelands Gulf Restoration and Gilsa funds.
