Monday starts at 75°F with abundant sunshine, reaching a high of 97°F by noon. Humidity will make it feel like the low triple digits, so stay cautious outdoors. Unfortunately, rain chances are minimal, with only a 10% chance for a stray shower on Monday. As we look ahead to the start of astronomical fall next Sunday, expect continued mid-90s and isolated rain chances. Stay cool and have a great week!

Chance for storms later this weekend
SUMMARY: Expect mostly sunny skies this afternoon, with temperatures in the 40s and 50s, slightly warmer than yesterday. A stronger front arriving Sunday will bring storms and significantly lower temperatures. While today’s highs will reach the mid to upper 60s, rain chances will increase through the weekend, particularly on Sunday when severe weather, including strong winds and a low risk of tornadoes, is possible. Expect a quick drop in temperatures following the front, with Monday morning likely seeing temperatures in the 30s and potential frost by midweek. Prepare for colder conditions heading into next week.
We’re staying seasonal going into the weekend. We are warming up Sunday before storms move in Sunday evening. We’ll see a blast of cold air move in right after.

What we know about Bourbon Street suspect's history
SUMMARY: Recent revelations about Shamad Din Jabar, a former military IT specialist, indicate significant personal and financial struggles. Jabar, divorced three times between 2012 and 2020, faced contentious legal issues, including allegations of fraud from his ex-wife. In 2022, he reported mounting debts and foreclosure risks. Living in a devout Muslim community in Houston, Jabar’s seemingly quiet life changed when he began expressing allegiance to ISIS. The FBI reported he posted alarming videos threatening his family and planned a violent attack in New Orleans, where he drove a truck into Bourbon Street, setting off pipe bombs, acting alone in the incident.
Investigators continue to piece together evidence on the suspect who committed the Bourbon Street attack, Shamsud-Din Jabbar.
