SUMMARY: Today brought much-needed rain to our dry ground, with showers and thunderstorms offering relief. The latest Drought Monitor shows abnormally dry conditions across several areas. Rainfall ranged from half an inch to an inch and a half, with heavier rain south of the I-20 Corridor. Flash flood warnings were issued for parts of Clark, Jasper, and Smith counties, where flooding and wind damage were reported. More showers and thunderstorms are expected after midnight into Friday, potentially causing localized flooding. Temperatures will remain cooler than average, with continuous rain chances extending into the weekend and next week. Keep umbrellas handy.
