SUMMARY: A low-pressure area over the AR/LA/TX region causing a gradual flow of Gulf moisture will increase the likelihood of local flash floods. Daytime heating will lead to showers or thunderstorms that could yield significant rainfall (2-5” or more), overwhelming the saturated ground. The potential for flash floods increases if these storms temporarily stall. Late in the week, high pressure will take control, slightly increasing temperatures and reducing rain activity. Heat indices could reach 100-110, evoking heat advisories for the weekend.
