$44 million approved for 15 RESTORE Act projects in Mississippi

SUMMARY: Governor Tate Reeves of Mississippi has approved over $44 million for 15 new projects along the state’s Gulf Coast. These projects, funded through the RESTORE Act, aim to enhance the coastal habitats, infrastructure, and quality of life in the area. Some of the projects include revitalizing the Hancock County Fairgrounds, improving water infrastructure in Kiln, constructing pedestrian-friendly features on Hwy 609, and developing an aircraft maintenance facility at the Gulfport-Biloxi International Airport. Other projects focus on reducing invasive species, establishing recreational areas, constructing artificial reefs, and enhancing marine education programs. These projects are expected to be completed by 2023.
