37 Mississippians arrested in connection to multiple drug trafficking operations
SUMMARY: Thirty-seven individuals from Mississippi were apprehended as a result of a four-year federal probe into drug trafficking operations, implicating additional suspects in California, Texas, Alabama, and Mexico. The Southern District of Mississippi has issued nearly a dozen indictments against those involved. They are accused of distributing methamphetamine, cocaine, and other illicit drugs. Charges include possession with the intent to distribute and conspiracy. Some face mandatory minimum sentences or enhanced penalties due to drug quantity, trafficking in proximity to minors or schools, and related firearm offenses. Initial court appearances are set to begin on Wednesday. Other suspects remain at large.
