Frustrations heightening as potholes from I-10 roadwork lead to traffic jams, incidents
SUMMARY: Road work on I-10 is causing significant disruptions for drivers, particularly around Diamond Head and Harrison County. Potholes and crumbling pavement have led to traffic jams and emergency repairs. One driver, Edna D, reported her car lifting off the ground after hitting a pothole, damaging her windshield. Mississippi Department of Transportation project manager Tanner Briyan explained that the potholes are caused by inadequate drainage pipes unable to support heavy trucks. Currently, repairs are underway, and shoulder lanes will be closed until the issues are resolved to ensure driver safety and smoother traffic flow.
Roadwork continues on I-10 in Harrison County, and it’s been a bumpy road thus far for drivers.
