SAPD officers shoot, kill suspect wanted on three felony warrants, police chief says

SUMMARY: A man wanted by San Antonio is dead after allegedly threatening and to have a gun. Police Chief William McManis reported that the , wanted on three felony warrants, was tracked down in a parking lot on Broadway. When officers attempted to apprehend him, he refused to exit his vehicle, shouted threats, and began reaching into a bag inside the car. In response to his actions, officers fired their weapons. The suspect’s identity has not yet been released, and the incident is under investigation.

Duncanville ISD changes entrance policy for football games after threats

Duncanville ISD introduced an admission policy requiring to have current IDs and be accompanied by a parent. This was made after receiving threats similar to those reported at other nearby schools. Increased security has been implemented across campuses, and communication with has emphasized monitoring children’s social media. The community remains shaken by recent violence, the shooting deaths of two students. Duncanville ISD plans to reassess the admission policy as the season progresses.

District superintendent Lamar Goree told FOX 4 the policy was put in place out of an abundance of caution after false threats to schools across the area.

Houston man sentenced for shooting deputy constable in leg 7 times in 2017

SUMMARY: Tonight, a Houston man, 44-year-old Constantine Argir Rio, was to 50 years in prison for the aggravated assault of a public servant. This charge carries a punishment similar to that of murder. The incident dates back to 2017 when Deputy Constable Justin Gay responded to a violence call at Argir Rio’s home. After a struggle during the attempted detention, Argir Rio shot Deputy Gay seven times in the legs. Fortunately, Deputy Gay reports being in good and claims to harbor no hatred towards Argir Rio.

A Harris County Jury sentenced Constantine Argyriou, 44, to 50 years in prison for the shooting that severely wounded Precinct 4 deputy constable Justin Gay.
