18-year-old Rogers man arrested after chasing kids with machete

After escaping into a Walmart parking lot, police found Kumpe at Casey’s with the machete in his backpack. He faces two counts of aggravated assault and one count of endangering a minor. Kumpe has a prior burglary charge, with a recent misdemeanor theft charge conditioned on staying out of trouble. He is held in Benton County Jail on $10,000 bail.
