18-year-old in custody after deadly shooting of 16-year-old in Hermitage
SUMMARY: Metro police arrested 18-year-old Rafhael Jodari for the shooting death of 16-year-old Zephiline Phillips in Hermitage. The incident occurred near Phillips’ home, where he was found with gunshot wounds and later died at Vanderbilt Hospital. Jodari emerged as a suspect after detectives uncovered communication between him and Phillips regarding a gun purchase, including a money transfer. Following this, police executed a search warrant at Jodari’s home, discovering the car linked to the crime and seizing three firearms.
One teenager died and another was arrested following a Saturday evening shooting in the Hermitage area, officials said.

Man's identity uncovered years after remains initially found
SUMMARY: Genetic research has enabled police to identify human remains found in January 2018 in a makeshift shelter along I-24. The skeletal remains, along with a sleeping bag and clothing, were linked to 65-year-old Steven Allen Yance, a Vermont man who had been living at the site and lost contact with his family years earlier. A bone sample led to his identification. Investigators state that no foul play is suspected in his death.

KY governor holds briefing in Laurel County on man accused in 1-75 shooting

Man shot and killed by Memphis Police outside elementary school after carjacking, MPD says
SUMMARY: A terrifying incident unfolded at Cornerstone Prep in Frasier, where a 7-year-old student, Lola Richard, mistook gunfire for rocks hitting her classroom window. Students were instructed to gather in a corner for safety when a carjacking suspect shot at police, prompting officers to return fire, resulting in the suspect’s death just outside their classroom. Lola described her fear during the event, confused by loud noises, and thought the gunman might enter the school. The chaos started with a carjacking earlier that day. Fortunately, no officers were injured, and one suspect remains in custody.
A carjacking in Memphis turned into a police chase on foot and ended with a suspect dead. The Memphis Police Department said that shots were fired at officers during the chase, leading an officer to shoot and kill one of the suspects outside of a Memphis elementary school.
