16-year-old killed in Gulfport after argument over vape pen

SUMMARY: A 16-year-old was fatally shot in a disagreement over the sale of a vape pen in Gulfport, Mississippi. Elijah Eckford, 18, shot Zaelyn Braxton after an argument and fled the scene. The driver of the vehicle, Tai’shawn Holloway, waited for Eckford and then fled the area. Another occupant, Christopher Fletcher, was also involved. Eckford has been charged with second-degree murder, while Holloway has been charged with accessory after the fact, and Fletcher has been charged with possession of marijuana. All three are being held in the Harrison County Adult Detention Center. Anyone with information can contact Gulfport police or Mississippi Coast Crime Stoppers.
