16-year-old girl fighting for life after being hit by car
SUMMARY: A 16-year-old girl, Amaya Booker, is fighting for her life after being hit by a car in White Haven while on her lunch break. She was crossing Elvis Presley Boulevard when a 2007 Mazda struck her; luckily, it was not a hit-and-run. Amaya suffered severe injuries, including fractures and torn ligaments, and is currently recovering after being moved from the ICU. Her mother is advocating for more crosswalks and safety measures in the area to protect pedestrians, especially given the proximity of numerous schools. The investigation into the incident is ongoing, and the driver has not been charged.
“How long will it be before she wakes up?” asked the aunt of the teen girl.
