Institute for Marine Mammal Studies working to rehabilitate over 20 Kemp's ridley sea turtles
SUMMARY: The Institute for Marine Mammal Studies is rehabilitating 23 endangered Kim Ridley sea turtles that suffered from cold stunning after being trapped in frigid waters in Cape Cod, Massachusetts. Mississippi State University veterinary students are assisting in the recovery process by conducting initial examinations, blood work, and monitoring the turtles’ health. Cold-stunned turtles often experience pneumonia and frostbite, requiring personalized treatment plans, including fluids and antibiotics. Once rehabilitated, the turtles will be released back into Mississippi Sound.

PCC GulfChem bringing operations to the Gulf Coast

Groundbreaking is scheduled for early 2026, with expectations to operationalize the plant by 2028, creating numerous jobs in the region.
PCC GulfChem Corporation announced on Tuesday its plan to bring manufacturing operations to Harrison County.
