Good Morning Meridian Tori Alvarado’s forecast 12/17/24
SUMMARY: Good morning! Currently, Central Mississippi is experiencing spotty showers and dense fog. Lighter showers are south of Interstate 20, particularly near Newton and Smith County, while heavier showers are affecting southern Smith and Jasper counties. Dense fog is widespread across Mississippi and Western Alabama, with visibility as low as a quarter of a mile in some areas, including Philadelphia. A dense fog advisory is in effect until 9 a.m. today. Temperatures will warm to the mid-70s this afternoon, with cooler weather arriving later in the week. Showers are expected Wednesday, followed by sunny, chilly weather for the start of winter on Saturday.

Lee County supervisors move forward with comprehensive master plan for new jail
