11th Egg Bowl Run held Sunday in Calhoun City

SUMMARY: The 11th annual Egg Bowl run kicked off, with the Miss Rebels and Mississippi State Bulldogs participating in a 100-mile run to raise canned food for the community. The previous year’s home team runs to Calhoun City to hand off the football to this year’s home team, who then runs it back to their school. Both teams raised over two truck beds full of canned goods, which will go to local pantries. Additionally, there was a one-mile Fun Run with fans and kids around Calhoun City. The goal of the event is to raise as much canned food for the community as possible through the rivalry festivities.
