Rain has now moved out, and skies are clearing. Temperatures will drop as a cold front moves through, with gusty winds expected tomorrow (25-35 mph). By Thursday morning, temperatures may dip into the mid to upper 30s, possibly leading to frost. Friday and Saturday could also bring frost with clear skies and lighter winds. The hurricane season has ended with 18 named storms, including 5 major hurricanes. The weekend looks clear, while next week could bring rain.

Although no structures were damaged, the situation remained serious, with smoke visible in the area. Residents are urged to stay informed as crews continue their efforts to fully extinguish the fire. Black History Month: Chickasaw County native redefining the cowboy image in Hollywood
SUMMARY: WDVA celebrates Black History Month by highlighting Tim Cook, a Chickasaw County native redefining the cowboy image in Hollywood. A Rodeo Champion and skilled stuntman, Cook recalls his early love for rodeo, which led him to impressive stunts in major films, including “The Harder They Fall.” As he showcases the talents of black cowboys, he emphasizes their significant but often overlooked contributions to the American West, where an estimated one in four cowboys were black in the 1800s. Cook sees his work as a way to honor this history and inspire the next generation of black rodeo performers.
Tim Cook is a former bareback and bull rider from Houston, Mississippi. He talked to WTVA’s Michelle Martin about bringing his life as a cowboy to the big screen.
SUMMARY: A significant software glitch is disrupting Mississippi’s driver license bureaus, with operations expected to resume by the week’s end. The Department of Public Safety revealed that a routine update from a third-party vendor caused the issues, resulting in 2 to 3-hour wait times at various offices.
