10 Years Later: WTVA Meteorologist John Dolusic recounts the damage he faced after tornado
SUMMARY: John Dek, a meteorologist in North Mississippi, shares his experience with the 2014 tornado that devastated his neighborhood. His family had to take a detour to avoid debris and damage. While some trees have been replanted, not all have returned, including a 60-70 year old tree near Parkway Baptist Church. Interview: Nurse Practitioner Paige Sanders explains Parkinson's Disease
SUMMARY: Retired NFL quarterback Brett Favre announced his Parkinson’s disease diagnosis while testifying about welfare reform in Congress. Neurology consultant Paige Sanders discussed Parkinson’s, a progressive movement disorder caused by the breakdown of nerve cells in the brain, leading to decreased dopamine levels. Symptoms include resting tremors, shuffling gait, stiffness, and difficulties with daily tasks. While head injuries may increase athletes’ risk for Parkinson’s, most cases are idiopathic. There’s no cure, and treatments mainly involve medications and therapies to manage symptoms. Athletes, particularly older males, are at higher risk, but Parkinson’s affects a broad range of individuals.

Drug and human trafficking investigation resulted in 5 arrests in Tupelo
SUMMARY: A search warrant in Tupelo resulted in the arrest of five individuals on various drug and human trafficking charges. Arrington Dancy and Jaquet Simmons were arrested, with Dancy facing drug trafficking charges related to heroin, meth, and hydrocodone. Simmons faces similar drug charges along with human trafficking offenses. Additionally, three women were arrested on possession of heroin charges. The arrests occurred at a home on Grab Apple Drive during a raid conducted by local drug agents. In related news, Governor Tate has reappointed officials to their positions.

Pet of the Week: Parker
SUMMARY: Chris Manard, a volunteer at the Tupelo-Lee Humane Society, shares his enthusiasm for a lovable pit mix puppy named Parker, who is friendly with both dogs and people.
