$10 million settlement reached in Oklahoma-Texas boundary dispute
SUMMARY: No charges have been filed regarding a $10 million agreement between Oklahoma and Texas related to boundary lines. This agreement aims to relocate a Lake Texoma pump station back to Texas, ensuring a reliable water supply and improved water quality for millions in North Texas. The issue stems from a misdrawn boundary in 2000, which resulted in ongoing confusion. The revised boundary also includes additional land to clarify the state’s jurisdiction.

Frustration nears boiling point over pipeline construction
SUMMARY: Local property owners are fighting against Phillips 66, which plans to build a crude oil pipeline through their land using eminent domain. Longtime farmer Don Crow describes the damage to his property, worsened by recent rainfall, which has transformed usable land into a muddy mess. Crow and neighbors, affected despite not having their land taken, are in district court contesting the project, which they argue is poorly managed. Phillips 66 claims the project serves a public good and that homeowners rejected fair compensation. Legal resolutions are anticipated to drag on into the following year, potentially increasing damage.

Veteran gets Purple Heart decades after service
SUMMARY: A Marine veteran, who was wounded in Vietnam and missed receiving a Purple Heart for decades, was finally honored with the award recently. During combat in September 1968, he was shot in the head at just 19 years old, sustaining serious injuries that led to over a year in the hospital. Although his discharge paperwork overlooked his Purple Heart, efforts from the Marines and Senator James Lankford’s office rectified this error. The ceremony took place at the Norman Veterans Home on Veterans Day, where fellow Marines and family celebrated this long-overdue recognition, honoring his service and sacrifice.

SUMMARY: Tonight will be cold with temperatures dropping to the upper 30s to around 40 degrees. Tomorrow, highs are expected near 70, accompanied by some wind. These comfortable temperatures won’t last, as changes begin Sunday night into Monday, bringing heavy rain and a low risk of severe weather, mainly south of I-40. A brief tornado threat is also possible early Monday morning. Following the rain, colder air will enter the region, with projections indicating potential snow later next week as we approach Thanksgiving.
