1 person in custody for Booneville fatal stabbing

Detectives are investigating the city’s second murder of the year, which occurred Tuesday morning on South Lake Street. The woman in custody also hails from outside the county and has not been charged yet, although charges may be forthcoming. Chief Michael Ry noted that such violent crimes are rare in Boonville, a usually peaceful town.

The ballet, a winter tale of good versus evil, is performed Saturday at 7 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. at Tupelo High School.

The Civic Ballet in Tupelo is performing “Snow Queen” on Nov. 23-24.
