Tupelo paving project expected to be done by the end of August
SUMMARY: Crews are undertaking a significant paving project in Tupelo, also known as the All-America City, involving over 30 roads. This initiative will include milling and overlaying the roads, leading to multiple detours that may impact daily commutes. City Engineer Dennis Buns emphasized the importance of maintaining the road network for residents, visitors, and commuters. Falcon Contracting Company is currently removing old asphalt and will soon repave the roads to enhance safety. The project, anticipated to be completed by the end of August, aims to ensure smoother and safer travel around Tupelo despite temporary traffic disruptions.

Credit Unions celebrate 90 years of continued service
SUMMARY: First Mississippi Federal Credit Union is celebrating a milestone by putting people first. As part of the national credit union movement, which began 90 years ago and is described as “people helping people,” they have served Lauderdale and Clark counties for over 50 years. Jerome Tryan shared insights into the credit union's mission, emphasizing that unlike banks, credit unions are not-for-profit entities. This allows them to pay members dividends through loans and other financial services, instead of paying shareholders. Today, over 140 million Americans benefit from being part of these independent financial cooperatives. Congratulations to their continued service!

“Wilson Goes Fishing” Book Launch in Philadelphia set for Friday
