MHP investigates two crashes in Lowndes County
SUMMARY: The Mississippi Highway Patrol is investigating two crashes that occurred in Northern Lowndes County on Highway 45 North near Cal-Kolola Road shortly before 5 p.m. Monday. One incident involved a southbound Jeep, which veered off the road, crossed into the northbound lane, and landed in a ditch after rolling over multiple times. The driver, 28-year-old David Logan Cook of Columbus, died at the scene. Tropical depression or storm likely to form soon, National Hurricane Center says
SUMMARY: The National Hurricane Center (NHC) reports that a tropical depression or storm is likely to form soon from a tropical wave located several hundred miles west-southwest of the Cabo Verde Islands, with a 90% chance of development in the next seven days. The system is expected to move westward towards the Windward Islands. Additionally, the NHC is monitoring two other tropical waves with lower formation chances. One is in the western Caribbean Sea with a 30% chance of development, and the other is south-southwest of the Cabo Verde Islands with a 20% chance of forming in the upcoming week.
